PROPOSALS FOR DEALING WITH CHILDREN OF ANGLO-CHINESE

WHO HAVE OBTAINED DENATIONALISATION CERTIFICATES.

A. BORN IN CHINA

B. BORN OUT OF CHINA.

No claim to British protection to be recognised.

To be treated like other Anglo-Chinese, i.e. receive protection for 6 months as transient visitors and afterwards only if they obtain denationalisation' certificates.

To be treated like other Anglo-Chinese (but Chinese Government to enact that all such children will actually possess Chinese as well as British nationality.)

(1) To be treated like other Anglo-Chinese

(2) Special provision to be made for children born during temporary residence in China.

(3) Provision to govern position of minors before they are of age to make declaration.

Should possess only one nationality, i.e., British. Chinese Government to enact accordingly.
